Sedir Sokak Konutları, Kadıköy
A 42-unit housing building designed together with cooperative members.
Cedar Street Housing was designed together with the 42 members of a building cooperative. Six workshops were held during the participatory design process, and shared spaces – a roof garden, kids' workshop and bicycle store – were determined by members' priorities.
Design approach
The building was kept at a scale compatible with its five-story neighbors; the brick texture on the facade provides continuity along the street. A 48 kW solar array on the roof meets 60 percent of common-area electricity.
